Hi everybody,
We are working on an experimet which require to control fixation. In the gazedata output there are a lot of gaze point (-1,-1), what they means?
It should be when the tobii eyetracker does not get correctly the gaze data, for example when the subject closes the eyes, but there are a lot of them consecutively, sometimes for almost 1 second, which seems incompatible with an eye blink.
How many (-1,-1) gaze point usually do you get? and how many consecutiovely?
Could it be a problem of the tobii eyetracker?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
Any gaze points reported as -1,-1 indicate the the eyes were either lost by the Tobii eye tracker or were off-screen (i.e., the gaze was seen by Tobii but exceeded the min or max screen coordinates). It is possible that the gaze is either being lost by Tobii for extended periods of time or the gaze is near the screen border and exceeding the coordinates.
If you feel like the gaze is definitely on screen you might want to check that the eye tracker is seeing the eyes. You can use the track status window in Tobii Studio to do this. If the status is red when you are looking on screen, the eye tracker may be having difficulty seeing the gaze. I would contact Tobii in this case. If the status is green, try recalibrating.
