I'm currently trying to analyze some data in E-Data Aid. I need to do two tasks:

1.) Filter out RTs <= -3SDs and >= +3 SDs
2.) Export to a delimited file or .csv for viewing in Open Office (since I don't have Excel on the Windows side of my computer)

Task 1 seems extremely basic, but I am unable to find anything about it either in the Reference Guide or past forum postings. While I know how to do task 2 (press "Export" in the table output of the Analyze dialog), the file that this process produces is not delimited (by tab or anything else, upon viewing in Notepad), and cannot be loaded into Open Office successfully. In terms of Export options, I've tried both Excel and Other, adjusting the delimiters, and unchecking the Unicode box, and none of this seems to help.

FYI, I figured out the solutions to my problems:

1.) In order to filter outliers out of your data, you have to first compute the mean and SD for your data using the Analysis function in E-Data Aid. Then, you should export this to Excel (or Open Office, in my case) and compute the cutoffs for your outliers by multiplying your SD the appropriate # of times and adding it to your mean. Finally, go back into E-Data Aid and filter out data that are above this cutoff, and voila, your outliers are excluded.
2.) Updating your version of E-Prime to version 2.0.8.74 solves most problems with exporting data.
